No part of the submission is final until all steps have been completed and you click the final Submit button.
The judging process begins as soon as Mukoli receives your submission. You cannot edit your submission once you have clicked on the final Submit button.
Judging & Selection
Entries will be read and judged blindly by Mukoli editors and winning entries will be decided through a deliberative process between them. Judging criteria include:
- Alignment with Mukoli’s mission
- Creative originality
- Technical and narrative craft
- Emotional resonance or conceptual impact
All decisions are final.
Winning entries
Winners will be notified via email and required to sign a publishing contract.
Upon publication, we acquire First World Serial Rights and First World Electronic Rights. Following publication, all rights revert to the writer/translator/artist; we only ask that you credit our magazine as the place your work first appeared in. Contributors retain copyright and may republish after the exclusivity window.
In the event an insufficient number of entries are received that comply with the contest rules or meet the minimum judging criteria, Mukoli reserves the right to select less than five (5) winners in any category.
